Scripture Study

"I fear that many of us rush about from day to day taking for granted the holy scriptures. We scramble to honor appointments with physicians, lawyers, and businessmen. Yet we think nothing of postponing interviews with Deity--postponing scripture study. Little wonder we develop anemic souls and lose our direction in living. How much better it would be if we planned and held sacred fifteen or twenty minutes a day for reading the scriptures. Such interviews with Deity would help us recognize his voice and enable us to receive guidance in all of our affairs. We must look to God through the scriptures."
-Elder Carlos E Asay

Best Day Ever!

Today was the Best Day Ever. The first day of school! I felt like a cheerleader today. Yelling, jumping up & down. I was in such a good mood. My kids waited for the bus for like 15 minutes and it never came so I finally had to drive them when there was like 5 minutes until it started. They both had a good day. Ryanna came home saying she has the best teacher ever (Mr. Cook) and Brayden came home saying that he almost fell asleep at school. He was so tired and it was long. Maybe if he went to sleep at a decent time he wouldn't feel so tired. The hardest part is trying to get on a schedule again and not having a husband around at night to help. He has been working around the clock. I had YW's tonight so grandma Della watched the kids. I'm so blessed to live by her. It was a getting to know your leaders. We played games and each had written 4-5 things about ourselved that the girls had to guess which leader it was. It was fun! I love my calling - oh have I already said that?

American Mall

Last night Ryanna and I were able to go to the premiere of "American Mall" which was filmed at the Provo Towne Mall. Our Realtor Steve and his wife Marilou invited us to go with them. She is an attorney (she used to work for Warner Bros.) It was so much fun. It will premiere on Monday August 11th on MTV. A lot of the cast was there. We got to shake hands with the producer. The director was there. After the movie all of the cast that was there came up front and they did a Q & A. We got free drinks and popcorn. Ryanna even liked it more than HSM (if you can believe that) they will even being doing a 2nd one of "American Mall" and a 4th HSM. Marilou told Ryanna that she might be able to take Ryanna with her one day when they are shooting the 2nd one and let her watch. Ryanna is ecstatic. This is totally her "thing" So a big thanks to Steve & Marilou for inviting us to go with you. Tune in on Monday night (MTV). I think it's on at 9:00 p.m. but I'm not for sure.

The phone call

So Ryan got the phone call on Friday night saying that the Stake President would like to meet with him and his wife on Sunday morning @ 8 a.m. Can't wait to see what it is. I keep teasing Ryan that he is going to be "invited" to the High Council, he does not like the sound of that. Let you know tommorow what it is.

BLAST!!

I had a BLAST this last couple of days at girls camp. I have not laughed that hard or until I cried for a long time. I have the best calling and we have the best girls. I didn't have time to miss anyone because I was always busy cooking, cleaning, laughing, learning and increasing my testimony. It was so fun to get to know the girls better and to see them in a different setting. I love the gospel. I am so blessed. I definetly charged my spiritual battery and it feels so good. I am glad to be home and in my own bed (even though I slept in a trailer and slept well)but what a much needed break for 3 days. Thanks again to everyone that helped me out - I couldn't have gone without you.
